This course focuses on the history of graphic design and provides perspective on how design evolved throughout the years, from the 1850s through the 1960s. Our priority will always be to maintain academic standards and quality so that your learning outcomes are not affected by any adjustments that we may have to make. We’ll carefully manage any future changes to courses, or the support and other services available to you, if these are necessary because of things like changes to government health and safety advice, or any changes to the law. Any annual increase in tuition fees as provided for above will be notified to students at the earliest opportunity in advance of the academic year to which any applicable inflationary rise may apply. The interview will take approximately 15 minutes but you should allow one hour for the whole interview process as you will be offered the opportunity to view the facilities and meet appropriate staff and students. We use the interview to find out more about you, to better understand your aspirations and interests, and to explore why you want to study with us.

Typography includes type design, modifying type glyphs and arranging type. Type glyphs (characters) are created and modified using illustration techniques. Type arrangement is the selection of typefaces, point size, tracking (the space between all characters used), kerning (the space between two specific characters) and leading (line spacing). Graphic design can have many applications, from road signs to technical schematics and reference manuals. It is often used in branding products and elements of company identity such as logos, colors, packaging, labelling and text. Discover the schools, companies, and neighborhoods that are right for you.
